It was the middle of the night as Leah woke up. Her heart still beating fast from the nightmare she just had. Still breathless she pushed back a strand of her dark hair, where it belonged. She could feel that she was sweaty. Closing her eyes for only a second, taking a calming breath she reminded herself that it had been just a dream. When she turned towards her bedside table and looked at the clock, a sigh escaped her lips. It was shortly after midnight and she was already awake. She laid back in her bed again, trying to shake off all her thoughts. To herself she thought, that she could be happy for having at least a few hours of sleep. The whole beeing a werewolf thing messed with her sleep and with her dreams. After all her day was always the same, she got up for the patrols, which she did the whole day. Then after she was finished with it, the Pack had nearly every day something to discuss about, what meant it became later. Then she searched for a place to sleep or got home, when Jake told them to. Followed by getting up at around midnight again for a new patrol.
After a moment laying on her bed she gave up. Leah rolled out of her bed. Silently to not make any noise that could wake her mother. She wasn´t sure if Seth was around to but, she didn´t believed it. Fastly she looked around her room for a few clothes, which she found really fastly. So she changed into a blue skirt, a white, blue top. She got a pair of shoes and put them on. Fastly she grabbed a hairbrush and pulled it through her hair a few times. Until they didn´t looked like a haystack anymore. Silently not making a sound she got her window and opened it. Leah looked from her window down to the ground. A moment she didn´t feel awake enough for such a jump, but then she pushed that thought aside and jumped. With a silent dull sound she landed with her feet on the ground. Looking back at the house again, she was happy to see that no lights had went on inside, what would mean her mother had noticed she had disappeared.
Aimelessly she started to walk through the streets of La Push. Watching the streets in the pale light of the moon and stars, let everything appear different to her. Not that Leah was afraid of darkness, if she was honest she even liked the night. She loved the quietness and peacefullness that was everywhere around her when it was dark. She noticed that the cold air that was pulling on her hair and clothes, was quiet comfortable to her. After she all she was a werewolf what meant her body temperature, which was already higher then any humans, cooled down a bit after her restless sleep. It was calming to be outside and to take a walk, at least for Leah. Whenever she wanted to get away from everything, she just needed a walk and a chance to let her thoughts free. Now she was on her way through the main street, which wasn´t a really big street. After all La Push was just a little reservation, beside the small town of Forks.
A grin appeared on her face as she got an idea. So she started to run. After all her title fastest wasn´t coming from nowhere, it meant she had to train to keep her record. So she continued her way through town, until she reached a few parking lots, which were a bit farer away from the city. They were right next to the beach, there Leah stopped unsure where to go next. But before she had really thought about it, she was on her way down the small stairs to the beach. As she felt the sand under her feet, she sighed in relieve, here she felt free from everything. Leah walked along the beach, she wanted to get to a place a bit away from the beginning of the beach. The beach was so different to most other places, Leah thought. The air smelled salty, the waves coming to the beach and the constant moving of the water was to hear. As a child Leah had spent nearly every day at the beach, she had played here for hours, but that had been a long time ago, she thought.
For a moment she whished she would have taken her swimming things with her. It might have been soothing to do some swimming. But in the next moment she thought that it was probably better she hadn´t, cause now that it was dark the water had to be ice cold. So she simply continued her way along the beach. While she walked she wondered what the others of her Pack were doing right now. Sure a few of them were running patrols, but the others were probably at home laying in their beds. A moment later Leah thought about what time it was by now, but she had not taken her watch with her and there was no sign of a sunrise on the horizon. What meant she probably hadn´t needed so long for her walk as she had thought. Leah now reached her favourite place on the beach. It was far away from the place where all the tourists normally were. It was a small bay which was hidden behind a few huge rocks. There she sat down to the sandy ground and tucked up her legs. Watching the waves, which were glittering in the moonshine, rolling to the beach.
